Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

This sale is my favorite of they year. I do almost all of my Fall shopping for the girls and for myself during this sale. Even Adam got on board this year and updated his wardrobe! I went online at 5:00 am on the day the sale went live. I ordered way too much because you never know what will fit right ;) and hit the confirm button. However, I, like almost everyone else that shopped that day had issues. Long story short, my order went through 6 times! Yep, 6! My poor credit card! I wasn't able to get through to customer service until the next night. i could only cancel 2 of the orders by that time so 4 were heading my way. Of course I went out of town that week so Adam came home to enough boxes to make him question my sanity! I have everything almost sorted out now, exchanges made, returns taken care of and a few additional purchases made. Some of the items below may be out of stock but keep checking back. I've been able to snag everything on my list with a little stalking of the Nordstrom site!

Here's what I loved and kept (real life try on pics coming later this week):

SHOES

Lucky Yabba Wedge Bootie in Olive Suede and Blush Suede: I found these to be TTS and took my usual size 8. I can't decide between the two colors. I initially wanted the olive but fell in love with the blush too. They're both currently hanging out in my closet ;)

Marc Fisher LTD Valen Sandal: These were love at first sight on the website. They're really comfortable on also. My only issue is that I need to have another hole punched. I must have bizarrely skinny ankles, but I think I'm keeping them regardless!

Steve Madden Serena Mixed Media Sneaker: OK so I'm still not sure I'm cool enough to pull these off. Lo wears almost nothing but high tops so I'm channeling my inner 7 year old and I'm going to see if I reach for them.

TOPS

Free People Just the Tow of Us Tunic: Free People can be a hard fit for me because it's usually too large in the waist, but I have broad shoulders so I can't usually size down. I originally ordered an XS in this but then sent it back because it was too tight in the shoulders. I ended up trying on a S in store in navy and really liked it. The munchkins approved so it came home with me. This blush color was my first love so I ordered it in small in that color too. Now I have to decide which one to keep. . .

Halogen Lace Trim Blouse: I ordered this in a size down (small) because the Halogen brand tends to run large. The black and white are both staples that I think will get a lot of closet use. The white is slightly sheer so if that's an issue for you you'll need to layer!

Hinge Mixed Print Top: This was one of those tops that I knew I would either love or hate. The print was so strong in the picture that I didn't know how I would feel about it. I put it on, and it was love! It has a great 70's boho vibe that I love for Fall! I look this one in my regular size M.

O'Neill Plaid Fleece TopNike Women's Hypervenom Phantom III FG: This one screams cozy mountain retreat to me. I put it on and instantly felt like I needed a roaring fire in the fireplace. It's cozy, warm, soft and perfect! I took my usual size M in this one too.

JACKETS AND CARDIGANS

BlankNYC Suede Jacket in Bank Roll: This was a late order. The color bank roll read almost a muddy brown to me online, but then I saw it in person and it's actually a true olive green. Olive is my favorite Fall color too so an order was placed! I have a few BlankNYC suede jackets from the fall sale last year in tan and black that I love. I can take either a M or a L in this one, but since I'll likely be layering I went with a L. Plus I have long arms so any extra length is always a plus!

Caslon Asymmetrical Drape Collar Jacket in Green Beetle: This one is hanging in my closet, but I'm actually on the fence. I sized down to a S which was the right call, but there's still a lot of material in the draping. However, it's as soft as a cloud! I always end up reaching for the cuddly items that I wasn't sure about keeping (it's like that last item you throw in your luggage that you end up wearing all trip!) so I'm hanging onto it for now.

Caslon Hooded Cardigan: This is another one I'm not totally sold on yet. I really need a light grey cardigan because that's the color I reach for time and time again. The munchkins say it's my favorite color. It's not but it may be the one I wear the most! It's not scratchy but it's not super soft. Also the ties you can see when you have it on. I thought about tying it wear I want it and then cutting them. This one may go back. . .

Leith Ribbed Shawl Cardigan in Brown Spice, Grey and Tan: I have this cardigan in black and blush from last years sale. They're so easy to throw on! This years version is updated with ribbing which allows for a closer fit in my opinion. I also can't resist this rust color. It just screams fall to me!

PANTS

Joie Malbi Slim Stretch Pant: This was a total surprise. I saw these online and thought "I'll give them a whirl." OMG. . . love! I'm tall (5'10") so they hit me about where they do on the model. They are perfect on and hug in all the right places. They are so cute with booties too!

1822 Denim Decon Distressed Skinny Jean: I really wanted a skinny distressed raw hem jean. I ordered several pairs and these were my favorite. The price point is amazing, they're so soft, they hug in the right places but aren't too tight. Keepers! I sized down in these from my usual 27 to a 26. I heard they tend to stretch out a bit. It was a good call.

OTHER

NeuLash Lash Enhancing Serum: Y'all. This stuff. Amazing. I know there are other on the market (R&F etc) and I've tried them all. This is the one that works the best for me. My eyelashes are super long and lush. You have to keep using it or the benefits go away as your lashes fall out, but when it's on sale I stock up!

I'm going to do a try on post with actual wearing pictures later this week. I'll also do a post on the misses I had and why in case that's of any help to anyone!
