Lauren's Room

Lauren is all girl. She loves sparkles, pink and purple, unicorns and rainbows. I want to make sure that this room fits her now, but I also want to make sure that it's not so little girl like that she outgrows it quickly.

Our first issue was color. She wanted bright, neon, glow in the dark, make your eyes water purple. I wanted grey. You see the problem right? :) We compromised and I told her we could do one wall in a bright purple and the other walls white or light grey or we could pick a softer purple and do three walls (one wall will be built ins). She went with all three walls a light purple, and I did a victory dance in the corner! We went with a light purple grey called Elation by Sherwin Williams.

We then started with a super soft rug from RugsUSA as a great neutral base.

She has two twin beds in her room from Restoration Hardware Baby and her dresser and end tables are from Pottery Barn Kids. Like Caroline, she'll have built in bookshelves on either side of her windows and a window bench underneath the window to make a cozy place to curl up with a good book.

We put a bench from World Market at the end of both beds and a bright pop of color in the form of a chair from World Market in the corner, a table from HomeGoods to pile books on and a fun stool from World Market to prop your feet up on.

The bed linens will be all white, but with unicorn sheets from Pottery Barn Kids. I've picked up a few pillows at Target to tie it all together.

Her closet will have a chandelier from PotteryBarn Kids that will look like feather hanging from the ceiling and add a touch of whimsy (and it's on sale!).

I hope she can feel like a sparkly, unicorn princess in this room and that it can grow up a little bit with her when needed with just a few small tweaks! It's been so much fun to plan and buy for! I love my little ladies so much!
