Electrical Meeting

We had our electrical meeting this morning. Since Drew left Jim has been running point on our house. A new guy was been hired by the name of Mark, and he will be taking over our house from now on. So far I am very impressed with him. I'm actually really excited to change people this time because he seemed on top of everything in the meeting and the walk through. Then an hour later he emailed me a list of what was happening on every day for the next 2 weeks. I'm blown away! I'm so glad he's our point guy!

This morning we started at the outside of the house and walked the perimeter looking at where our lights will go and where we would possibly like to add a light. I ended up adding one more down light to the front of the house and one more flood light to the rear of the house. It's amazing how much easier it is to choose lighting placement when you have an actual house! ;)

Then we went inside and went through lighting and electrical outlet placement in every room. I only ended up making a few changes. I ended up adding two more canned lights to the foyer because I'm worried it's going to be dark. The original plans had a plant shelf upon entry. I can't stand plant shelves. To me it's where bugs go to die! In doing so I'm closing off a window so I'll lose some light. I wanted to make sure I had enough light so that the entry stayed light and bright. I also added an electrical outlet to the kitchen for the corner cabinet where I will put Adam's coffee maker. Other than that I kept everything the same.

We also went through all the things that need to be fixed from the framers and the plumbers including the arch that needs to be deleted to the wall that needs framing to the master bath shower knob placement to the wrong bath/shower to the kitchen sink location. . . you get the idea ;). They are also going to bring in a structural engineer to certify the slab since they had to cut into it to repair the kitchen sink placement issue. And I may or may not have found additional space in the closet of one of the guest bedrooms that they're going to open up for me. I know they're dying to sheet rock this house so I'll quit making changes! And I'm so eager to move forward!
