Today's board from Morpholio is for the dining room! Again, this app is so much fun! Here's what I put together in carpool line yesterday! :)

The bottom of the walls will have wainscoting similar to the treatment in the photo below. The top of the walls will be a dark grey which is called Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams. I may add beams to the ceiling down the road. I want to live in the space a little while first though.

The lighting choice for this room was one that surprised me. I went to look at Lighting with my mother-in-law in March. She loved this chandelier for the dining room from first sight. I wasn't sold. I ended up selecting the foyer chandelier, the study chandelier and my kitchen bar lighting first. When I saw those three come together this one just fit in so nicely that it won me over. It actually may be my favorite one now! It so delicate and pretty, and it has a wonderful rustic french country vibe. I think it'll be great with the table I love too!
The rug. Oh how I adore this rug. I usually would go with something in a total neutral, but I'm trying to push myself out of my grey and white comfort zone. I saw this one on LuLu & Georgia and swooned. I knew it had to go somewhere. I think it will be amazing with the iron ore on the walls and make for a dramatic and colorful dining space in which to celebrate. I was able to order it when the friends sale was going on for 30% off! Right now they have free shipping available though.
We had a little snafu with framing, and the only way to fix it without ripping out everything in the foyer was to lose some width in the dining room. I was terrified that this would mean I couldn't get the table I'd fallen in love with. I ended up using cardboard to cut out the size of the table and make sure people could get in and out of the chairs comfortably. Thankfully it still fits with room to spare! I have an attachment to this table not only because of the beautiful wood inlays and gorgeous legs but because it's oval. My engagement ring that my husband designed for me is oval too so that makes it a little more near and dear to me. I bought the Paige chairs from World Market in linen and also two in mali. I'll use the chairs in mali for the ends of the table. I may replace them with captains chairs at some point in time. I have another place in mind for the mail chairs just in case.
In addition to the wainscoting, I knew I wanted two pieces of artwork. I chose an Athens artist (Steve Penley) for the study so I really wanted to find an artist from other places we've lived for other areas of the house. We lived in Virginia for graduate school, and when I saw this painting by Juniper Briggs, a Virginia artist, I was sold. I then found another one I love by Dana Burriss who is a Texas girl. Perfection! And I love the way the colors play together and with the rug.
I'm really excited about this fun colorful space! I can't wait to put it together! Later this week I'll share my Morpholio board for a few other spaces too!
