Fixes and Doors!

The framers came today and made a couple of the changes we've been waiting on! They removed the arch so that the transition from the foyer to the dining room now looks much more seamless.

They also removed the art niche from the master bedroom hallway. Caroline caught this one- go Caroline! I don't have any art that needs a niche. It's just another ledge for me to clean! ;)

The wall between the family room and the kitchen was also put in. It was originally a weird column that divided the doorway into like 12 feet and then a column and then 2 feet. Odd. So we enclosed it, and I'll make it a cute little sitting nook in the family room, and I'll probably hang cutting boards on it in the kitchen.

The fireplace in the sitting room was raised to the 10in height it was originally supposed to be. That was it can be seen a little better when the table is on place. And by raised I mean they stuck it on cinder blocks. I'm going to ask about that one. . .

The fun new news. . . we have french doors! They're putting in doors today, and the french doors that lead to the back patio were going in when we popped by. That was such a fun surprise!

Next up is electrical and multimedia. Both should start the end of this week or early next week. I know all of this stuff (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc) is essential, but it's not too exciting. I think that's why I got so excited to see doors. It was a visual step forward. I'm counting down the days (or more like weeks) until we get drywall!
