New House Breakfast and Sitting Room

Today's Morpholio board is all about the breakfast room/sitting room combination! I made this room by closing in a porch. That way I moved the breakfast room from in between the family room and the kitchen which clears the path for how we live and also made space for my dreamy double islands! I also added a fireplace to warm up the room and windows on wither side of the fireplace. There's also a big window along the right side that was originally french doors. I moved the french doors to the living room because they have to open inward and there wouldn't be enough room in this new room creation of mine. Here it is:

This was my inspiration for the room. I loved the warm feel of this room. It's going to start as a breakfast room. I'm not sure if it'll stay a breakfast room or turn into a sitting room though. I think it will depend on how much we use it or if we sit at the bar stools in the island all the time. And I'd actually like to use the dining room more than twice a year on Thanksgiving and Christmas!

The rug I chose is simple and basic. I wanted it to not take too much away from the fireplace. I really want it to be the focal point of the room. This one should wear like iron and hide some food that will inevitably end up on it!
We had this table in the old house, and it was one of very few things I knew was going to make the move from Georgia to Texas. It's from Restoration Hardware and is made of concrete. It weighs about 1000 pounds. I feel bad overtime someone has to move it! I love it though. I love all things concrete though. . . I'm a bit industrial.
Our chairs are also from Restoration Hardware. We have 6 of them. We usually only keep 4 around the table at a time but 6 fit very comfortably.
I love this light. It pulls in the brass from my kitchen light and pulls/knobs. I also wanted to find something that would work regardless of if this room ended up being a sitting room or a breakfast room. I originally thought I'd go with something a bit more rustic, but this one caught my eye and I fell hard!
This will be the brick for the fireplace. With one fireplace in the family room and one in the sitting room I knew I didn't want then both to be stone. That would be stone overload! This brick will stay in the same color family as the stone but change up the material. I'm excited about it!

It may end up being my favorite room in the house! The munchkins wanted to know if this fireplace would have a mantle as well as the family room mantle. They're hoping for double stockings this Christmas! :)
