Living Room Beams

I've been over analyzing about living room ceiling beams for weeks.

First was the layout. Do I want a grid pattern or a linear pattern? How many grids or lines do I want? DO I want it boxed in or blending into the soffits? Ahhh! I googled and Pinterested and stalked neighbors houses until I found my answer. I wanted a grid pattern but just 2x2. I also wanted it boxed in for a more polished look.

Then there was the choices of finishes. I originally wanted reclaimed wood. I wanted a more rustic and less polished look. Then I saw how the rest of the house was coming together, and I started second guessing myself. The house is definitely leaning toward a more transitional/traditional look and less farmhouse (but I do love farmhouse btw). When I saw the stain choices Toll offered I had my answer. I was going to paint them white! The total opposite direction I was learning toward at the beginning. That's happened to me quite a lot lately!

I'm in love! Next up is my foyer. This one really makes my heart skip a beat!!
