Frustrations

I've learned in building a house that some weeks are amazing and you see progress galore. Some weeks no one shows up and you're beyond frustrated. Some weeks, like this one, people show up and things get done but nothing is done correctly. That is the most maddening to me.

Tile was supposed to be installed this week. No tile guys have shown up.

Surprisingly electric did show up. And they weren't on our schedule. Odd. It would be great except for the fact that none of it is correct. I'm getting rid of every single fixture they're installing. I need to snap a picture of the foyer light that comes with the package. It's so tiny it's hysterical! These fixtures come with the house, and I can't put up my fixtures until after we close for insurance reasons. They also won't just leave them blank because they have to have something to test for inspections. So the fact that half of the fixtures have white globes and half have tan globes is making me laugh because I really don't care. I do, however, care that the placement of the holes is either off center or incorrect. Grr...

I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but this random "chandelier" hangs down about 2 feet in front of the bar. It's going to make it slightly awkward to sit and eat! ;) And the canned lights are off center about 12 in too far right.

The trim guys came back to add hall trim and to fix what had to be ripped off in the girls rooms and the study to put up the built ins. But the job they did- yikes! Not good. Not good at all. Horrible actually. It all has to be ripped out and redone. It's literally every corner.

I guess next week we'll go backwards and redo what was done, but not done well, this week. And find the missing tile guys. It's a process and this is part of it! I still love the process though!
