Foyer Reveal

The curved walls on either sides of the stairs have given me fits. I wasn't sure what to do with them. At first I though about having benches made to fit the curves, but then decided I would rather have tables because I wanted to add something for height. With the tall ceilings I thought benches would look squatty. So then I spent weeks, maybe months, looking for the right demilune tables. My issue was that everything I liked seemed to not have a finished back. Because of the curve I have to turn them around and show the back. I found one I really liked from Restoration Hardware, but it wasn't available for 6 months, and I was tired the empty foyer. I toyed with the idea of one larger round table in the center, and put one for about a day, but with the way we live and move that was a disaster. Our kids, dogs and neighbor all ran into it. Then I saw these Edith round tables at Scout & Nimble here in Houston and instantly loved them. The height is adjustable, and I loved the mixed metal of the brass with the iron. The marble tops are beautiful and a great nod to our kitchen islands.

I'm still playing with all of the accessories. The mirrors were supposed to go in our guest room, but I tried them out in the foyer for space purposes. I like it so now I'm on the hunt now for two great vintage antiqued mirrors. The frames and prints will likely stay. The oval frame is from a precious store in Brevard, NC. The wooden and mirrored frame are from Target and the larger ornate frame is from Hobby Lobby. The lamps are also from Target. I found one I loved at Restoration Hardware and then found these at Target, and they're almost identical! The Target price was so much better though! The running man statue is one my husband one at a meet in Europe years ago. I really like it, and it makes me smile.

Here's the foyer view from the dining room and study too:

The rug is from Amazon. It is thick and decently comfortable on the feet. The price is great too at right around $100. I had a pattered rug in there at first but I wanted something more neutral so that rug got moved to the master bath. I like it much better there. I'm thinking that the neutral will go with everything as I change things up seasonally too.

That's the foyer! It's welcoming and warm, and so far I love it!
