So as you walk into the foyer and take a left you enter into the dining room. If you remember from a past post (The tile was disintegrating. . . ) this was the room I was most concerned about because of the square footage we lost in construction. I had my heart set on a particular table, and I was so nervous that it wouldn't fit. But. . . it fits perfectly! Woo hoo!
Here's the dining room:

I had a hysterical (now) issue with the chandelier. I bought one I adored by Suzanne Kasler. It's the bordeaux grande chandelier. I ordered it with a lighting consultant and everything, but when I laid the box in the dining room I was concerned. The box took up the whole room. I was hoping it was just really well protected. I opened it up and um. . . it was probably the size of the entire ceiling! There was no way that that chandelier could go in this room with space to walk around even the edges of the room. It was comical. My neighbor came over and said "well that's a statement. I'm just not sure it's a statement you want to make!" Ha! So I had to try again.
I ordered the Country Small Chandelier in belgian white from Burke Decor. It's visually very similar, much more affordable and it fits. A win all around!
The chairs are from the Paige Dining Chairs from World Market. I did 6 plain chairs and two on the ends in the Mali pattern for a little bit of fun.
The dining table was a total score. I had been eyeing a table from Kathy Kuo for about a year. There's a guy in Houston who makes tables and he posted literally the exact table on Facebook one day. I emailed him immediately, packed up the kids and drove north to see it. It was love at first sight. Getting it home was an adventure. It took up the whole minivan so both kids were going to ride up front. I was shamed by my then 7 year old and decided I couldn't do it (don't worry Mom- I likely wouldn't have followed through with it). So poor Lo managed to buckle into the back but she had a table part basically an inch away from her. But we made it! I think it was worth it. I'm not sure the kids agree!
The picture frames are from pictureframes.com. They can be made in any size and ship quickly. I adore them. They're such a great champagne color even though the site states that they're silver. They were my second go around with frames. I bought some locally that just were too thin. I needed something more substantial. These are perfect.
I'm going to work my way through the butler's pantry and into the kitchen next. Thank you so much for following along!
